At 8:20 PM, the Promenade was called to order by Chef Dowling.

Roll Call of Officers:  All present or accounted for.

Minutes for the past month:  Notion made, seconded and passed to dispense with the reading of the minutes.

Finance report:  We are in the black, notion made, seconded and passed to dispense with the reading of finance report.

Reports of Officers and Committees:  Monsieur Toure Conducteur, Dean Pearsoll updated us on the Offutt Air show bus trip August 29, 2009.  We will meet in the Legion parking lot at 7:30 AM Saturday the 29th, some will board in Schuyler, coffee and donuts will be supplied by Hy-Vee thanks to Don Rullo.  If you know someone who might be interested get their $25.00 and get it to Dean ASAP.  His phone number is 402 564 7775 or 402 270 4921.  Remember we need to come up with 47 paid seat holders or the Voiture has to make up the difference.

Sickness and Distress:  None.

The next promenade will be at the Doug Zikmund’s cabin on Johnson Lake, south of Lexington, NE. Note the change Saturday, August 15th 2009.  Attitude Adjustment Hour, (aka Social Hour) 4 PM, Supper at 5 PM, and Promenade at 6 PM.  At least we try to start with these times.  We will be grilling steaks, a little change this year, bring your own steak or meat to grill and a covered dish or two, you could also bring some finger food if you’d like to.  If you are coming to the next Promenade I have to have your RSVP no later than 14 August 2009 my home phone with and answering system is 402 564 9035, my cell phone is 402 630 0288.  I have procured a room at the Days Inn for Saturday night in Lexington it cost me $63.00 plus tax, I know Super 8 is the same, but  Holiday Inn Express is $90.00, I recommend spending the night but that’s up to you.

The easiest way to get to the Zikmund Cabin at Johnson Lake is to take Highway 283 South from I80 (Lexington exit) 8 miles (there is a sign to Johnson Lake at about 3 miles south, but its not easy to find the cabin going that way).  Turn west off of US Hwy283 onto Drive 28 (there is a convenience store/gas station near the corner).  Continue on this road about 1 mile (it winds around kind of to the north), until you go over the outlet bridge.  Turn left the first road (East Shore Drive, I think), go about ¼ mile the road will turn, you go straight on Road 1.  The Zikmund’s cabin is the 9th cabin, lot #38.  Phone number at the cabin is 308 785 2234 Zikmund’s cell phone are 402 270 7856 or 402 270 7857, the home phone in Columbus is 402 563 2881.

Fines:  Merlin, Jack, Dean, and Arney $1.00, Don Rullo $8.00 (Doug paid for $3.00 of it.) we won’t have to have any kind of a money maker as long as Don keeps coming to the Promenades.

Old Business:  None.

New Business:  Dues, I have the new 2010 membership cards, 10 of us have already paid, so if you want to join us please remit you dues ASAP, lets be 100% again this year.  The dues art still $20.00 you can send me a check at 606 1st St. Columbus, NE. 68601-7923.
